Kloof Musical Pops
Rotary Club of Kloof proudly presents Kloof Musical Pops with award winning saxophonist Andrew Young.
Andrew Young returns to his origins taking his musical journey full circle.
After finishing his classical musical studies in London, Andrew spent over a decade in Classical Symphony Orchestras as a Clarinettist and Saxophonist, including the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1991 Andrew performed as Soloist on saxophone at an annual event in the Durban City Hall called Kloof Rotary Pops. He enthralled the audience performing Kenny Gorelick’s song “Going Home”. Shortly after he left the orchestra to pursue a career, touring globally as a soloist.
After 28 years Andrew is thrilled to return to the Rotary Club of Kloof to play a concert featuring the Quattro Femme String Quartet and his Durban based band performing his own version of a Rotary Pops Concert, – Kloof Musical Pops.
Andrew will once again play a program that includes the song that paved the way to his international success, and on the very same saxophone that he used all those years ago.
Proceeds from the Concert will be donated to the Kloof Rest Home Association.
